Infinidat and Veeam Joint Data Protection in Kubernetes

Infinidat, a leading provider of enterprise data storage solutions, has announced a partnership with Veeam — a global leader in data protection and recovery — to deliver high-performance protection for workloads in Kubernetes environments.

Infinidat and Veeam Integration Secures Data in Containerized Kubernetes Environments

This integration enables the InfiniBox® storage platform to be used in conjunction with Veeam Kasten K10 version 7.5 to create a scalable, reliable, and cyber-resilient data storage environment, particularly when Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization is used as an alternative to traditional virtualization platforms.

The joint solution enables enterprises to modernize their data infrastructure, migrate existing and new virtual machines to containerized environments, and manage them effectively. It ensures the protection of mission-critical enterprise workloads at scales involving billions of files, applying best practices in data security, recovery, and mobility within Kubernetes.

A key component of the joint solution is immutability support — Veeam Kasten K10 can now trigger the creation of immutable snapshots via Infinidat’s CSI driver using InfiniSafe®. This provides maximum protection against ransomware attacks and allows full environment recovery in case of incidents. In addition, Infinidat supports both block and file storage access, delivering flexible deployment and compatibility with Kubernetes storage policies.

Infrastructure flexibility, petabyte-scale storage, and integration with cloud environments make InfiniBox an ideal choice for protecting containerized applications. It enables enterprises to deploy Red Hat OpenShift with a unified toolset and maintain a centralized platform for both virtualized and containerized workloads, ensuring unified management policies.

The collaboration is also certified under the Veeam Ready for Kubernetes program. InfiniBox successfully passed compatibility testing with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization, ensuring customers of its stability and performance in production environments.

Company representatives expressed confidence in the importance of this integration. Eric Kaulberg, VP of Strategy and Alliances at Infinidat, noted that support for Veeam Kasten v7.5 allows customers to scale data protection in Kubernetes to meet enterprise-level requirements. Gaurav Rishi, VP of Product and Partnerships at Veeam, added that the combination of Veeam Kasten with InfiniBox creates the ideal solution for safeguarding mission-critical data.

Mike Barrett, VP of Hybrid Platforms at Red Hat, emphasized that through cooperation with Infinidat and Veeam, customers can successfully scale data protection in Kubernetes environments — including virtual machines — and meet business continuity requirements.

This partnership demonstrates both companies’ vision for evolving modern storage and backup architecture tailored to the demands of today’s multi-cloud, dynamic environments.
